How it works

Designing this product step by step

Everything happens in your browser. When you approve, we receive a production-ready file and go straight to press.

  1. 01

    Pick a size and interior

    Both sizes are portrait. Choose blank or lined interior pages; the printed cover area is the same either way.

  2. 02

    Design each cover

    Switch between the front and back cover in the editor. Artwork dropped on the canvas is applied to the cover you are currently editing.

  3. 03

    Work inside the guides

    The canvas shows the trim line, bleed and safe area so nothing important is lost when the notebook is cut and stitched.

  4. 04

    Preview both covers, then approve

    A perspective mockup shows the front and back as printed. Approving produces the print-ready file for production.

Questions

Before you start designing

Do I have to print both covers?

No. The back cover is optional — design it if you want it printed, otherwise leave it as it is.

Which sizes are available?

Two portrait sizes: Large at 5" × 8" and Small at 4.25" × 5.5".

Can I add text as well as an image?

Yes. The studio includes text tools with a curated set of fonts, and text is written into the print file as sharp vector type.
